Faking It: Photography Manipulation

Do you ever wonder what the world did in the days before Photoshop? "Faking It: Manipulated Photography Before Photoshop," an exhibit currently on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, shows how early photographs were improved by hand with pigments or through blending multiple negatives into one shot. Sponsored by Adobe (yes, the company behind Photoshop), the show contains examples of trick photography from the 1840s right through the 1990s. "Faking It," one of my picks for Must-See Museum Exhibits of 2013, will be at the Met Museum through January 27 but moves on to Washington, DC, and Houston, later this year.
