Election Day 2012, which takes place tomorrow, November 6, is a quasi-holiday in the U.S. even if most people have to go to work. So it's no surprise that many companies and organizations are offering deals to accompany the hoopla. Here are a few of the Election Day deals that came across my desk this weekend:
- Zipcar's Zip to the Polls: If you're a Zipcar member, you can get 50% off an hourly reservation made on November 6 between 5am and 9pm. Use the car to get to the polls, then drive to a local museum or attraction.
- The High Museum of Art in Atlanta will have a Pay-As-You-Wish Day on November 6. Admission at the High typically costs $19.50, so you can save significantly tomorrow.
- According to Hotel Chatter, a few hotels are offering Election Day deals. The best deal comes from the San Juan Marriott in San Juan, Puerto Rico, which is offering 20% off your next booking at the resort through December 26, 2012. Those who wish to cash in must first upload photo evidence that they voted (an "I Voted" sticker suffices) to the San Juan Marriott's Facebook page or Twitter.
- The Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles will offer free admission on Election Day or any day through November 11 to anyone who voted (show your "I Voted" sticker or vote-by-mail stub). The Skirball is currently showing the exhibit Creating the United States, which is a nice complement to carrying out your civic duty.
